Lash Prep, Arrival & Aftercare

Preparing for your appointment

If you have never had lashes before or are looking to get a full set after a little break, heres what you need to know to prepare for your appointment.

  • Refrain from wearing mascara at least 2-3 days prior to your appointment. Although you think you may have removed it all from your natural  lashes, the residue can remain even after properly cleansing, causing your extensions not to stick properly.
  • Arrive with a completely clean face and lashes. THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT. The cleaner your lashes are upon arrival, the more time there will be to apply lashes and the better your retention will be.
  • Avoid oil based products around the eye area the day of your appointment. If you must apply eye cream, do so sparingly.
  • Remove your contacts and wear your glasses to your appointment if possible. Make sure to bring your contact case and solution if needed. You can always remove your contacts at your appointment, if glasses are not an option for you.
  • Avoid consuming caffeine at least 3 hours prior to arrival. Even though you may not appear to have the jitters, your eyes will tell it all! Caffeine will cause  your eyes flutter, which will make for a difficult time applying the lashes.

Arriving to your appointment

So, you've booked your appointment, now its go time! Make sure to remember these upon arrival.

  • Wash hands and relieve yourself BEFORE you lay down in the lash chair. If you have to get up during your appointment it will cut into your time, which means less lashes.
  • Place your phone on silent or vibrate. Once your lash tape and pads are applied you will not be able to open your eyes. This also means no texting or phone calls during service.
  • Lay completely still during service. Keeping your hands and arms down by your side or across your stomach. Too much movement can cause injury or improper application.
  • Avoid touching your face, scratching your nose and squeezing your eyes.
  • Keep talking to a minimum.
  • Napping is WELCOMED! When you fall asleep it makes the appointment go much smoother and faster. You never have to apologize for fall asleep. This lets your lash artist know you are comfortable and it is the ULTIMATE compliment for us.

Lash Aftercare

Your lash set is complete, now what? Make sure to follow these steps after your appointment to get the most out of your lash extensions.

  • Avoid Picking & rubbing your eyes.
  • Do not use an eyelash curler. This can damage the extension curl and cause immediate fall out.
  • Refrain from mascara or gel liners on your extensions.
  • Do not use oil based facial products or makeup.
  • Do not sleep on your lashes.
  • Cleanse and brush your lashes daily. See lash bath steps below.
  • Schedule refills every 2-3 weeks to keep your lash look consistent.

Lash Bath Steps;

  1. Wet your lashes with cool or luke warm water.
  2. Apply a small amount of cleanser to your cleansing brush or directly to the lash line.
  3. Gently lather the foaming cleanser with your brush directly on the lashes for at least 10 seconds per eye.
  4. Rinse both eyes thoroughly with water.
  5. Gently pat dry with a lint-free towel or paper towel.
  6. Let your lashes air dry then brush through with your lash wand or use a mini fan while brushing through to speed this step up.
  7. Repeat these steps once daily or as needed.
